We’re excited to announce that our partner, Goodlord, has launched its latest State of the Lettings Industry report, providing valuable insights into the current state and future of the private rental sector (PRS).
As a leader in RentTech, Goodlord’s mission is to transform the renting experience for everyone involved. This year’s report is their most comprehensive yet, surveying over 1,500 landlords, letting agents, and tenants across the UK to uncover the biggest challenges, trends, and opportunities shaping the PRS today.
What can you expect from the report?
This essential industry tool gives an in-depth look at the market shifts affecting letting agents and landlords. Some of the key findings include:
- Demand outstripping supply: Over 75% of letting agents have reported a surge in tenant enquiries, while 58% have seen a reduction in available rental properties, further intensifying competition for homes.
- Landlords leaving the market: Nearly a third (29.9%) of landlords surveyed have either sold or listed at least one rental property in the past year. This trend looks set to continue, with many citing regulatory pressures as a primary reason.
- Concerns about the Renters’ Rights Bill: 66% of letting agents believe that Labour’s Renters’ Rights Bill could result in fewer rental properties being available, creating further challenges for the PRS.
With the sector facing increasing regulation and uncertainty, Goodlord’s report provides letting agents with the insights they need to navigate these changes and stay ahead of the curve.
